United are inching closer to smash the British
transfer record.
According to reports from The Times , negotiations
between the two clubs continued last night and it
seems that a deal has been struck.
Spanish media are reporting that a fee of £63.9
million has been agreed, but United camp maintain
that a deal has not yet been struck,
although negotiations are on-going between Ed
Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, and the
Spanish club.
The Times reckon that the fee could be as high as
£68 million if certain conditions are met. Chelsea
set the current British transfer record when they
signed Fernando Torres from Liverpool for £50m.
Di Maria has already said goodbye to his Real
Madrid team mates, and is expected to fly to
Manchester today with a view to taking a medical
and signing a contract worth £8m per year. He will
wear the iconic no 7 at Manchester United.
